Are our political attitudes affected by personality? By DNA? “Authoritarianism” has been studied for decades, is measured reliably, affects political beliefs and behavior, and changes with fear and economic inequality.
Professor Jim Uleman will talk about Authoritarianism, Milgram’s obedience study inspired by Adolph Eichmann and the Holocaust. Professor Uleman, a social psychologist at New York University, will lead a discussion on these topics, covering some history and the latest research findings.
Prof. Uleman was educated at Caltech, University of Michigan, and Harvard. He has been on the faculty at NYU for almost 50 years and directed the doctoral program in social psychology for over 20 years. He is a Fellow of the Association for Psychological Science and the American Psychological Association, and recipient of the 2013 Ostrom Award “in recognition of his outstanding contributions to social cognition.”
Reservations not necessary. Just come! Donations appreciated.
